Our Audit Procedures Manual contains audit methodology and guidance to support the Mercia audit methodology which is reflected in the Mercia Audit Manual and Mercia Specialist Assignment Manuals (SAMs) such as the Charities, Academies and Pensions SAMs. It also includes guidance on audit regulation and quality control, including fit and proper and independence forms and an audit compliance review.
Our Audit Procedures Manual is written in Microsoft Word and where relevant should be tailored by each individual firm for their own policies and procedures.
The latest version of the Audit Procedures Manual is 16.0, dated 06/20.
This update principally deals with the Ethical Standard published by the FRC in December 2019, and is largely effective from 15 March 2020. Audits for periods commencing before this date are conducted in accordance with the Ethical Standard 2016 and policies referred to in the previous version of the Audit Procedures Manual.

For the first time, this update to your Audit Procedures Manual does not compliment an update to the Mercia Audit Manual. The changes to your Audit Manual which relate to the Ethical Standard 2019 are expected to be released in early 2021.
