This tutor-led, practical workshop is designed to equip students with the essential skills for their first year as a trainee, while enhancing and building on existing knowledge. It focuses on strengthening core workplace skills, increasing confidence, and supporting continued development in a professional environment.

  • Exploring time management techniques in more depth and how these apply in the workplace. Using time management tools to plan, prioritise and maintain a structured and organised approach to your work.
  • Developing your ability to make confident, well-informed decisions by evaluating options, weighing risks, and using sound judgement. The focus will be on accountability and achieving positive, organisational goal-aligned outcomes.
  • Problem-solving techniques using practical tools to address workplace challenges in a structured, solution-focused way, identifying root causes, analysing issues, and developing actionable solutions to achieve successful results.
  • Understanding the difference between transactional and relational service, to go beyond simply completing tasks to delivering meaningful value. You will learn how to build positive relationships, anticipate needs, and create more engaging, customer-focused interactions while maintaining efficiency.
