Data Analytics - What Everyone Needs to Know

Course outline:

This course gives an overview of audit data analytics, what it is and how it can be used on audit engagements.

On completion of the course, participants will understand how audit data analytics can be applied on audit engagements and best practice considerations regarding how to document its use on an audit file.

This course will consider the general application of data analytics, using examples ranging from the of using both dedicated data analytic tools / applications and manually applied analytics (such as spreadsheet analysis).

It should be noted this course does not focus on a particular dedicated application, rather it considers general principles which would be relevant for a typical audit engagement.
