Introduction to Taxation of Individuals

Using case studies and examples, by the end of the course participants will be familiar with the basic principles of calculating an individual's income tax liability. 

The course will include: 

  • Reviewing the different sources of income 
  • Tax rates and allowances 
  • Income tax computations and payment 
  • National insurance contributions 
  • Relevant examples, quiz questions and case studies will be used to check your understanding.

Who should take the course

This course is suitable for those participants who have worked between 3 and 15 months in the profession and have little or no existing tax knowledge in this area. It will not normally be suitable for those participants who are studying and have sat their first professional tax exam.
